Precious metal is completely new for iOS 8. Calculate the value for gold, platinum, palladium, silver, copper, nickel, lead, zinc and aluminum. New to the latest update you can now secure your settings screen with a passcode and use touch id if available to access. Precious metal allows you to make your calculations in a variety of weights: grams, troy ounces, penny weight and pounds. You select the purity based on fixed karat weights or percentage of purity. Change your options at any time and the app will recalculate automatically. If you are a buyer or seller then you know that 100% of the value is not normally what you are dealing in. We allow you to set the buy back percentage so that you can calculate all of your items at the current market rate in your shop. We now have the ability to choose from 96 different currencies so that this application will perform for you no matter where you may live. Metal prices are available for download twice per day and currencies can be updated hourly monday through friday. Prices do not change on the weekends and holidays due to the closure of the markets. View the charts based on weight for the currency that you have selected. You need a data connection to get the latest prices and exchange rates but if you do not have one the application will perform with the last successful download so that you can still complete your business.
